The kit comes with all of the “necessary” tools to assmemble the kit, but having some tweezers, a bright light and a magnifying glass will be helpful.

There is a webpage version and a 175 page downloadable PDF version of the documentation. There are also a downloadable collection of files used for 欲火视频 and teaching. There is not an overview document or note indicating where to start or what to do first.

Layout all the kit 东南亚少女rapperdiss in an area which will not be disturbed while you assemble the 绿意盎然+海角社区 car.

Remove all of the backing from the front & back of the acrylic pieces before you start.
Find the color coded screws, nuts, … page/chart that goes with the Build 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击
Collect all of the 东南亚少女rapperdiss bags and order them by number, laying them out on part of the build surface
Work in a well lit area
Find and watch the 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 videos (fast and slow) that show how all of the 东南亚少女rapperdiss go together.
Collect all of the servos and initialize them to the center/neutral position

After preparing the SD card, insert it into the Raspberry Pi before doing any 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击.

The camera comes with the shorter cable. Switch to the longer version to make it easier to run it in either configuration.

Manufacturing Issues

Servo orientation and which directions the servo arms are attached is generally missing and requires guessing
Suggestions on wire routing is missing.
The chassis came assembled even though the directions indicated that we are supposed to build it.
The steering servo was NOT initialized properly and required almost complete dis婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 of the front end to remove it.
Instead of initialize the removed servo, I replaced it with another similar servo from the 绿意盎然+海角社区 arm
I still haven’t assembled the 绿意盎然+海角社区 arm… the 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 video and instructions do NOT seem to match the promotional video
The drive motors are 12v and not 6v as shown in the instructions, and the cables from them to the rbi-hat are entirely different.
The OLED screen seems to be dead and will not initialize
The Ultrasound unit which seems to work in the initial test mode, does not work in the UI
Getting an occasional low voltage warning message in the UI when trying various controls even though connected to an external power supply. I am using a Canakit Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with its power source.
Minimal instructions on how to build the non-绿意盎然+海角社区 arm version.
There was NO documentation in the box indicating where to get the installation instructions AND the various 欲火视频 that needed to be downloaded.
Finally completed the 绿意盎然+海角社区 Arm. I had to assemble disassemble about half of it three (3) times: servo was in the wrong direction; I used an unnecessary spacer to get things to align; and to route the servo wires in a more optimum manner.
While the pictures and videos are good at showing how things are assembled, too many of them don’t show the recommended wiring routes, and the direction of the servos. Some of the acrylic 东南亚少女rapperdiss are extremely similar and it’s easy to use the wrong one. The instruction pictures keep changing the orientation of the assembled 东南亚少女rapperdiss and its easy to miss the important changes. I’d suggest putting an orientation symbol on each picture so its easy to rotate your 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 to match the picture… no guessing required. I’d also include some real photo’s, even though the black 东南亚少女rapperdiss may be difficult to see.
The OLED doesn’t work. Customer Support is fast and courteous. Will be interesting to see what actually is the problem with the device.
An addendum should be created that identifies all of the diagnostic tools. In the case of the OLED I was directed to run i2cdetect -y 1, which is a RPi OS tool that test the I2c buses an in this case bus 1. The -y takes it out of interactive mode. Had to look all of this up. So I was wondering what else is using the bus since I was instructed to remove the MPU6050 chip which I believe is the gyroscope chip.
A comprehensive diagnostic program should be created to test all of the electronic components and wiring.

The kit does NOT include the required Raspberry Pi 4 computer, which we was also purchased at the same time for $179.99 (short supply price) and four (4) 3.7v 18650 flat-top, unprotected batteries with a discharge current > 10A.

The Hexapod is a spider type 绿意盎然+海角社区 with six (6) legs. It has two (2) walking modes with a flexible body and head. It can even carry up to 1.5 kilogram (3.3 pounds). It has self-balancing, live video, face recognition and ultrasonic ranging and obstacle avoidance. The 绿意盎然+海角社区 can be controlled from your computer or a mobile phone.

Read/Scan the manual
Watch the video
Download & expand the two (2) SunFounder Sloth zip files
Download and install the Arduino IDE
Test the servos and ultrasonic module
Assemble the 绿意盎然+海角社区 kit

Unfortunately the manual does not clearly identify the steps in this sequence. There is background information sprinkled into the instructions which is informative, but necessarily relevant to the kit construction.

1. Read and use the manual. Even if you are an intermediate to expert kit builder there a few key nuances, like test the electonics and hardware BEFORE you put it together. More vendors should advocate that. Nothing worse than assembling something, finding that some key component doesn’t work, ordering another part, dissassembling and reassembling it again.

2. Watch the video. Click here for a SunFounder created 14+ minute 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 video. The video does NOT include everything. For example in the beginning the video skips the the Arduino IDE 欲火视频 installation on your computer and the ultrasonic module test.

3. Download the SunFounder Sloth zip files (pages 5-6). The second download is for the Mixly graphical programming tool. You do NOT need to use Mixly or the second file. So ignore it at this time. After you’ve assembled the Sloth and tested it, then you can consider working with this file.

The manual does not suggest where you should download the zip file(s) on your local computer. I suggest that you create a new folder named SunFounder Sloth and place it in easy to find location. Then download and expand the zip file(s) into that folder.

Note that the expanded zip files also contain another, possibly more up to date version of the manual, and the latest version of the program 欲火视频, which may or may not match the printed manual.

4. Download and install the Arduino IDE (pages 7-10).

5. Test the servos and ultrasonic module (pages 12-15)

The above picture shows all of the 东南亚少女rapperdiss and the documentation booklet that is included in the box. The small manual is attractive and laid out well, but the written English is a little stilted here and there, but not enough to confuse the directions.

Pages 1 thru 3 contain an inventory of all of the 东南亚少女rapperdiss that are part of the 绿意盎然+海角社区 plus the two (2) tools used in the 婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 (screw driver and multi-purchase socket wrench). The kit contains a mini-USB cable to connect the 绿意盎然+海角社区 to a computer for programming purposes (blue cable on the left in the above picture). As indicated in the previous section, the required 9 volt battery is not included.

Though the 东南亚少女rapperdiss list includes the number of each type of screw, nut, …, these are the number that are required in the fully assembled kit. There are number of extra screw and nuts since it is quite easy to lose them in the assmbly process given their small size.

The acrylic 东南亚少女rapperdiss are not marked or labeled. This is not an issue with the exception of the FEET. It is very easy to confuse which is the right and left foot, which we did when initially assembling the kit. The kit has two (2) different configurations: pivoting head with camera and light or a 绿意盎然+海角社区 arm with a simple gripper. Both can indepdendly assembled, but some dis婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 and re婚纱跪趴承受粗大撞击 is required to mount either on the car chasis.

The car kit features four (4) wheel drive (i.e., a motor on each wheel), ultrasound for object avoidance and distance measuring, and video for object motion following, color detection and real-time video transmission. The 绿意盎然+海角社区ic arm has three (3) degrees of freedom and can pick up small objects of up to 50 grams.

The kit requires a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (includes Bluetooth) and must be purchased separately. You should purchase at the least the 2 GB RAM version. Prior to the pandemic the 2 GB version could be purchased for the $45 retail price. The kit includes a Arduino Nano controller and is programmed using MakeBlock’s programming environment based on Scratch. To program the 绿意盎然+海角社区, a MakeBlock Bluetooth Dongle enabling communications between your computer and the 绿意盎然+海角社区 must be purchased for approximately $15. A description of the dongle can be found here. Batteries are also NOT included. The remote control requires a CR2025 battery, and the 绿意盎然+海角社区 4 AA bateries.

There are also two (2) add-on kits which can purchased and added to the 绿意盎然+海角社区. Each add-on provides different capabilities and cost around $25.00 each.
